2014... You Came and Went!

An ode to 2014...

Twenty fourteen, you came and went,
A penny earned a dollar spent.
We had some fun we had a laugh,
This ode we write in your behalf.

First month of a brand new year,
It's where the ride begins my dear.
We sold our souls to buy a car,
After Dan's truck would not go far.
Stuck dead and tired.
The truck retired.

Second month came with a little news
LJ was accepted into grad skewls.
Oh and wait, a house of two no longer be,
But one plus one will now be three.

March rolled around, we couldn't wait,
To catch a glimpse of our little fate.
A boy a boy we shall receive,
A healthy boy we have conceived.

And now we come to month number four
Adventure awaited and so much more
We packed our bags and held on tight,
Ready for our 12 hour flight.
We arrived in Europe ready to play,
But first we needed a place to stay.
Paris, Switzerland and Italy,
There was no place we'd rather be.

Four months Prego though she be,
LJ did triathlon number three.
She took a spill and scraped her knee,
But she kept on trekking, her and baby
Later in May Dan reached his goal,
Olympic triathlon, he was on a roll.

June came in without a hitch
3 year anniversary with that....

Angel!

July was a sad sad month for Dan,
He was becoming a working man.
The hours were long and pressure on
to beat the tax man, IRS... Game on!

August was a bit more fun
The next adventure was about to come.
Aspen Grove a family affair
But lo and behold Dan wasn't there.
Heavy laden with child off she went
Alaska awaited, it was heaven sent.

September came we had a plan
Triathlon three with all the fam.
But wait! Hold on, it doesn't end
Tour de Donut, my new best friend.

We saved the best for almost last,
October came oh so fast.
A little gift 7 pounds 15 ounces
This little one, our hearts he pounces.
A healthy boy and growing fast
We try to make every minute last.

Thanksgiving time we were ready to eat,
While in St. George with some unusual heat.
Oh, by the way, we forgot to mention,
we bought a house with divine intervention.

Now here we are December is here
Ready to end just one more year.
Cache County we now leave you behind
To the beginning of our marriage we will rewind.
Move in with parents for just a while
But we still have many reasons to smile.

A new baby a new house what a great year its been.
But soon enough a new year begins.

2014 we bid you adieu
2015 we welcome you.

Love you all,

The Flores Family
