MayDay!

May started off with a bang! May 4, 2013 Daniel David Flores graduated with a double bachelors and a Masters of Accounting from Utah State University. I am so proud of him, he worked full time, went to school full time and was fully supportive of all my endeavors. Most of his family, along with some of my family were able to come and it was a blast having everyone there. We had a BBQ after at a park that was connected to the local zoo which they thought was pretty fun. We even had snow cones and pulled out the slack line.We gained more than a few pounds, went swimming, played at the park, went bowling, laser tagging, arcades and a little bit of shopping. Happy Graduation to Dan My Man!

I was a little bummed because we missed my nieces baptism that weekend but another niece was baptized a week later so we were able to celebrate with the both of them. The baptism was at Martins Cove in Wyoming. Some of the family rented an RV and went on a road-trip.Needless to say it was an adventure, and the drive didn't seem nearly as long as it usually does. After the baptism we pulled some handcarts in style.

Well the time had come....I have always wanted to do a sprint triathlon. So we did it. We signed up for one at Sand Hollow in St. George. Well that 6 months sure went by really fast. We did train but probably not as vigorously as we should have. We were a little bit nervous but there was no turning back! May 18, 2013 Jill Bishop, Jamie Ventura, Chelsea Bishop, Staci Bishop, Kelsi Bishop, Aubrey Bishop, Madeline Foutz, Daniel Flores and I accomplished a sprint triathlon. We all did it in pretty good time and I am so proud of everyone. It was so much fun we are definitely going to do it again.

It was Kami's wedding and of course it fell on the same day as the sprint triathlon I had been planning for months so I did my best. Dan was so great because he loaded everything up while I hurried and showered then we drove 4 hours to make the wedding. It was crazy but it was worth it. I was able to see so many of my great friends again.

We were able to spend our last weekend of May at the cabin for Memorial Day. We had a fire, rode bikes, worked on the tree house, cleaned the cabin, hiked and went 4 wheeling. Always a blast at the cabin.

I can't believe how time flies! April was gone in a blink of an eye but it was filled with so many great fun things! We were able to do the flow-rider again. This time part of the Bishop clan was able to go and it was hilarious. Everyone loved the I-fly, flow-rider and rock climbing. We had a packed day and it was a blast!

I was able to throw a shower for one of my best friends. It turned out pretty well. As it was finishing up I had to help Kelsi get ready for prom.

Every year there is the Make-A-Wish gala and this year Dan was able to go so I was very excited. It was a fun night with auctions and food and great wish kids! I didn't get any pictures but was able to get one of David giving a quick speech.

Dan had some time off after the busy tax season so we decided to have a day out, like the old dating days. We drove around the valley and stumbled upon some llamas and a cool fort by the water. Nothing like small towns.

March Madness

It has been a whirlwind of a month! Time just seems to fly by. First we went to Salt Lake to see our friend Dabba propose to his girlfriend. Then we went to St. George and the weekend after that we had our own little adventures. Then topped it off with another round to St. George and Zion.

St. George. We knew it was supposed to be a little cold and rainy but we hadn't seen the family in a long time so we did the all too familiar drive to St. George. It was a more relaxing visit but we still were able to get a little shooting and rock crawling in. I am a terrible terrible shot, but the sunset was amazing...seriously, no photo-shop was used.

Dan went on a boys climbing trip to Joe's Valley. I was excited for him since he hasn't gone climbing in a while due to school and work. He also hasn't seen his friends in a while so it was high time for a guys trip!  I knew it would be stinky boys and lots of climbing chalk. I decided to go spend some time with my sisters. It has been a while since the four of us have all had time to hang out. We taught Aubrey how to drive a stick shift. She did amazing! There was only one small part that she jerked a lot which was actually really funny. We also had dinner, went to the batting cages and did some arcades. Quality time!

Michelle and I decided forever ago we wanted to make a dress. I haven't sewed since my 8th grade sewing class which I think I barely even passed. A little ambitious I think, and Michelle has far more patience than I do but overall I think they turned out good.

We didn't really have any plans for Easter. In fact, we kind of forgot it was going to be Easter until the weekend before. Brandon texted everyone and said they were going to go hiking in Zions so we decided we wanted to go. Logan has been kind of dreary and I sit in my office all day and don't see the sun too much. It was so much fun. I was able to have Jamee Flores do my hair, she is so good, and we were able to get some good hiking and sun in. We bought a nice camera and Dan has been acting like a child with it so we were excited to finally put it to good use.We were able to see Brandon, Chelsea and little Navy who is so adorable I can barely stand it. Later, back in Logan we decided to have a picnic since it was starting to warm up a little bit so the last picture is a great spot we found on the mountain and enjoyed the evening.

Chocolate Madness
February 24, 2013

Now let's get one thing straight...I am not crafty. Dan is more crafty than I am. I do like pinterest and I do dream of being that do it all girl but hey I know the reality of it. Though I am definitely giving it my best shot so one day I can say, "hey, at least I tried." Well Dan saw this idea on the internet so we decided to try it out. You dip balloons in chocolate and it makes a chocolate bowl. Then you add whatever you want into the bowl. Now that is a lot of sugar. We invited Michael, Michelle, Bryan and Lacey over and we melted four huge chocolate bars. The first 6 or so balloons completely exploded...poor Michelle got the worst of it. Eventually we figured it out and after a chocolate bowl filled with cheesecake pudding...needless to say we were all feeling a little sugar loaded, not to mention the chocolate we refused to let go to waste once it exploded. There were chocolate and balloons on the counter, floor, walls, doors, ceiling and us. It wasn't nearly as pretty as the picture showed online but I think it was a success.

Valentines Celebration
February 8-10

So back in September Dan bought a night at a local bed and breakfast for half off. We couldn't go over my b-day so we decided to wait until his b-day because it would be cold outside. That weekend came but last minute his family came to town and we went to the cabin. It turned out to be a blast. I tried to book another weekend but it was almost completely booked and I noticed that I had missed the expiration date. Luckily they extended it for us for another few weeks so instead it turned out to be a b-day/valentine extravaganza. It was a lot of fun, we were able to be super lazy and sleep in. We even dressed up for dinner which was a lot of fun as well.Then it was back to reality...we are moving, not far but nonetheless....moving. So the packing began. Though we did take a break to hang out with Mike and Michelle. We all played Little Big Planet and I came in last every time but I at least finished most of the rounds. Then Michelle and I made freezer meals. Thanks to the inspiration of Mandi. It took about 1 1/2 hours of shopping and 2 hours of cooking but it made 5 big meals that should last us a good while. I am definitely not a cook or crafty but I have to say I have come a long ways since my college days.
